Mulberry Hollow is the second book in the Riverbend series by Denise Hunter. She has such a talent for writing unique storylines that tug at your heartstrings. Although it is book 2, they can be read as a stand alone. The story is heartwarming, charming and emotional and will keep you engaged and wanting more. Set in the town of Riverbend Gap off the Appalachian Trail, the small town atmosphere and close knit community draws you in right from the start. Each of the main characters has a unique history and story to tell. Both having wounds that need healing. Wes, a contractor who is hiking the trail in honor of his friend who passed, has not only physical ailments that need healing but emotional scars as well. Avery, the towns workaholic doctor, is in need of help with the clinic and is carrying baggage of her own. They are an unlikely pair but through a series of events turn to each other for assistance and healing.
